Prior to generating an invoice, you can preview your invoice and download a sample of it, to review it and see what it looks like.
Automatic invoice sending allows you to email invoices to clients the moment they are generated or approved, without any manual action. You can enable this at the firm level, control it per matter, and every sent email is logged for a full audit trail.

You can send invoices for one matter from Matters, or invoices for several matters at once from Billing.
To add fields to your invoice templates, paste the field names listed below into the templates.
When sending invoices to clients, you have the option to attach a cover page, also known as a Client Statement, to your email or printed invoices. The Client Statement provides a summary of the total amount encompassing all invoices generated for that specific client.
Our overdue invoice reminders enable you to promptly inform clients about their outstanding payments. It's important to note that invoice reminders can only be sent for Active Matters. You can send invoice reminders from either a specific matter or directly from the Matters page.
Instead of itemizing soft cost charges to clients, you can include an overhead charge on your invoices to cover these costs. Overhead charges can be implemented at the firm, matter, or invoice level.
You have the ability to adjust the invoice total or write off the balance once the invoice has been sent to your client or after partial payment has been made. Utilizing the Change/Write-off Invoice function preserves the original invoice entry while generating a new record that reflects the adjustments you've made.
In order to generate a receipt for a transaction in Rocket Matter, you must use the document template and document assembly functions. We provide a payment receipt template, which you can locate and edit by going to Setup > Document Template > Transaction. Once you are ready to generate a receipt template for the desired transaction, follow the steps below.
Before you void or delete an invoice, you must unlink any payments associated with the invoice.

Due to the extensive range of Uniform Task-Based Management System (UTBMS) codes and the preferences of many audit houses/processors that permit only specific codes, the risk of incorrect code usage is elevated. This increases the likelihood of nonconforming bills being rejected.
If you set a matter's billing method to Fixed Fee, the system automatically categorizes all future timecard entries on that matter as non-billable, preventing them from displaying on matter invoices.
