Improved task screen, better ways to record payments, import contacts, and more.

Enhancements

Improved Task Management

We have made significant improvements to the Task area under Practice. With the streamlined task screen, you can now work efficiently in the Board and Grid View.

Board View

  • This is the default view when you access tasks from the navigation panel
  • You now have the ability to search by task, assignee, or due date
  • You can add a task from a status in the task board
  • Client-Matter are now hyperlinked on the task
  • The task includes a description, due date, and overdue date in red
  • You can scroll within a task status
  • You can collapse the done status

Grid View

  • You now have the ability to select several tasks and change their status and delete them in bulk
  • Inline editing allows you to change the status of a task in the grid
  • The default view will not include columns for timecard, sharing via Client Portal icons but can be added from view settings
  • The Due By Details column will now display as green for a task due in future, orange, if it is due today, and red for past due
  • The column selection includes percent completed
  • The progress bar which you can include as a column from settings is now clickable allowing you to manually enter percent complete
  • You can now click on the three dots to mark a task as done

Enhanced Payment Screen

With further improvements to the invoice payment screen, you can now:

  • View invoice results without entering the applied amount
  • Check a box if you wish to pay the Full Unpaid Balance
  • View timekeeper allocation for transactions associated with invoice payments
  • Changes to the applied amount will automatically update the invoice item and timekeeper amounts
  • Preserve the Client/Matter/Invoice selection when switching the source
  • We have added a setting that will close the payment screen once payment is received
  • System will include a default memo, Payment on Invoices if you are paying an individual invoice

Import Contacts in Bulk

Our NextGen users can now import contacts in bulk into the system.

Invoice Reminder Grid

If you are sending invoice reminders to your clients, the Invoice Reminder(s) grid will include the matter file number, to keep it consistent with the Send Invoice(s) grid.

New Merge Field for Invoices

You can now use the new invoice merge field [#CompanyName#] to display the entity associated with a contact in invoices and email templates.

Send Trust Retainer Request

Users can now send online retainer requests to their clients from within a matter by clicking Action when they navigate to Matter > Banking > Transaction.

Amount on Time Dashboard

The Time Dashboard now includes both, the total time spent and amount for selected timekeepers in the daily, weekly and monthly blocks.

Expand Description Field

The description field in Hard Cost transactions, AP Bill, and Journal Entry screens can now be expanded by clicking.

Matter Fields Pre-Populate

When you are within a matter and create any item such as time, expense, invoices, tasks etc. using the Quick Action menu, the matter-related fields will pre-populate.
