If you are using NextGen's native document storage, you can move files and folders wherever they need to go — across folders, or even across different matters — without the hassle of downloading and re-uploading anything.
If you are using NextGen's native document storage, you can modify and manage files directly within your system. The system creates a new version tagged with a timestamp and the user’s name every time a document is edited and saved, maintaining a clear audit trail.

Multiple users can edit the same doc./file at the same time with the changes synchronized between editors.

Edits are applied to the same source file, so the Client Portal and other areas stay in sync with the latest version.
Supported file formats:
- .DOCX — Word documents
- .XLSX — Spreadsheets
- .PDF — With annotation support
You can use the application's free native document storage solution or integrate with an external document storage solution.
Once you have set up your document storage solution, you can manage your documents from the application.
When you attach a document to an item (such as time card, expense, invoice, etc.), the application automatically creates an Internal Documents subfolder in the matter's folder and stores your attached documents within it.
You can rename a document you uploaded to the application's Documents section.

You can add document properties to make it easier to locate when you use search filters. Adding document properties aids when searching within individual matters and when searching all firm cases.
You can download and restore a previous document version from within the application for Dropbox, Box, and Rocket Matter Native Storage App.
If a matter has already been created and you are integrating with a Document App (Box, Rocket Matter, DropBox, Google Drive, LexShare, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business), the folder creation feature allows you to create matter document folders in bulk. You will be able to view a report of all the matter folders created during the process.

When you integrate your account with OneDrive, you can access, edit, and save documents using Office 365.

- To enable the electronic sharing functionality, make sure to designate LexShare as the default document storage application. This can be done through Setup under Firm Preferences, and then Documents Settings where you can select LexShare as the 'Default Document App.'
